Our mission is to invest in and provide financial relief for Black descendants who were denied and had to endured generational wealth gaps dating back to American slavery. This persistent gap seeps as a deep wound embedded like cancer in the fabric of the nation—is one that remains unhealed. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. boldly called out these economic injustices, highlighting the government policies and practices that fueled them. His call for economic justice was tragically silenced by his assassination, a moment that helped inspire this venture we intend to help fulfill them.
The 440400 Social Investment Venture Fund raises capital through debt investment and repayments while offering financial reprieves to close the immediate wealth gaps of Blacks. It is a mechanism to make a financial correction of long-standing economic injustices that have denied generations of Black families the opportunity to have wealth to invest, build and retain wealth long term.
Investor participation is voluntary—it is offering a pathway forward as a healing to destroy the history of financial oppressions. It’s an invitation for those ready to take steps toward economic justice just! and to participating in dismantling a history of financial lack for Black community which we know was rooted in keeping them subservient for personal gains on plantations and afterward.
From slavery to redlining to discriminatory lending, systemic barriers have robbed Black descendants of finances. The impact of these centuries of injustices is not just historical—it is visible in today’s economic wealth gap data. (click to see)
