Our Why

Why 4-40-400 Exists

The Black wealth gap did not happen by accident. It developed over generations through unequal access to financial resources, property ownership, education, business capital, and opportunities to build and transfer wealth.

For many Black families, these historical disadvantages continue to affect financial stability today.

The 4-40-400 Capital Venture Fund was created to respond with practical action.

We believe that individuals, businesses, faith communities, philanthropists, and influencers can come together voluntarily to support solutions that help close portions of the wealth gap and create stronger economic futures.

Our purpose is not simply to discuss history. It is to create a better legacy because we understand it.
